Our Projects

As well as the training options that we bring to West Cumbria we also like to work on other projects and provisions aimed at the local community. These projects are only partially funded so do have to charge for them, however we try to keep this as minimal as possible.

Many of our projects and provisions are aimed at children, and ALL of our projects are deaf inclusive. Our staff are trained in BSL and are able to communicate effectively with any deaf attendees.

Deaf Walking Group

Open to those who are deaf, hard of hearing, including those who use hearing aids, or have cochlear implants.

Our deaf walking group has been set up to help members of the deaf community get out into nature and enjoy the beauty of the Lake District. Our walking guides are hearing and know basic/level 1 sign language. We plan the route and provide all necessary emergency equipment. We are also on hand for emergencies and to communicate to services, etc.

Registration is essential.
